Pevensey Parish Council celebrated the work of its community groups recently with a Grant awards ceremony at Ethel Wood Community Centre.

Pevensey Parish Council, annually, invites organisations which focus on village life, health, well being and charitable activities to apply for funds.

Parish Council Chairman Peter Lowton presented the cheques and commented ‘Community groups are the life blood of Pevensey and Pevensey Bay. Without these organisations society would be much the poorer and our residents wouldn’t get the support they need. We greatly appreciate the time and effort that groups and charities devote to maintaining the social fabric and wellbeing of the community’.

Those receiving grants were Citizens Advice Bureau, Victim Support, Ethel Wood Community Centre, Pevensey Bay Information and Caring Centre, Volunteers Network CIC (for Pevensey Library which is now open), Cuckmere Buses, St Wilfrid’s Church Hall, Pevensey and Westham Forest Garden and funding towards the cost of a Defibrillator at the Ethel Wood Community Centre, which is due to be installed shortly.

Pevensey Parish Council will invite applications from qualifying organisations later in 2019 for the funding awards round in 2020. Criteria and closing date information will be available on Pevensey Parish Council website pevenseyparishcouncil.org.
