Plan to open the road fully on Thursday morning. Road crossing outside EWCC
Latest information from SGN is that concrete was laid in Phase 2 yesterday. This has to be left to “cure” for 48 hours then tarmac is being laid tomorrow (Wednesday) and the plan, subject to any extreme weather conditions, is to open the road fully on Thursday morning. There are a few connections to complete in and around Coast Road but this won’t affect traffic flow; a road crossing is being planned outside EWCC and this may take place this weekend and access to the centre will be maintained.—Malcolm Lawson, clerk to Council, 22 November 2016

Update 5:00pm
Lest I have mislead you I should say that when I mentioned the road crossing outside EWCC this will only be a temporary one whilst some connection work is being done by SGN outside the entrance to EWCC!I have arranged for some of the plastic Speed Awareness signs to be placed on suitable points in Coast Road – let’s hope that drivers take due notice! Please…………..Malcolm Lawson, clerk to Council, 22 November 2016
