The latest news from SGN is that they finished the first phase of the Coast Road project on Tuesday – a week ahead of schedule. The road closure has now been moved eastwards betweeen Waverley Gardens and Seaville SDrive so they can carry out the second phase of the project. Traffic is now able to travel along Coast Road to Waverley Gardens so that residents can access their road.
Through traffic, and those residents east of Seaville Drive should continue to use the signed diversion via Sluice Lane. ‘Safety spotters’ will remain in place along the diversion route.
Phase 2 should, subject to unforeseeen circumstances or bad weather, be completed by the end of next week.
Apparently ESCC are not intending to complete their repair/resurfacing works until January and I have asked the ESCC County Councillor Mike Pursglove to clarify the position and press for an earlier start.
