GAS NETWORK UPGRADE DIARY
DAY 3, SGN, beyond the call of duty?
Johanna Hart and her story
. . .
Beyond the call of duty by SGN? Getting close, how good is this diary entry by Johanna Hart as an example of best practice with how to work with a community by the network upgrade gas company? Maybe not an award winning example, but an example, as Johanna says that they are reducing the impact of the project as much as they can
Johanna Hart—The helpful girls and guys from SGN, reducing impact of project as much as they can
As you are featuring the Coast Road gas works heavily I thought you may be interested to know I have been waiting since Tuesday for one of their managers to call me -because I raised concerns about the safety of the diversion route overnight especially the further we go in to winter and why can’t they cover holes with metal plates when not working-and have yet to receive a call. Someone called Paige called on Tuesday told me there was a meeting with councillors that night but I would receive a call on Wednesday. Instead of a manager yesterday morning I got a call from another girl (Emma I think she said) who said she would again get a manager to call-no call received.
Have you heard anything about others raising concerns about overnight and if there had been an SGN response?Update: Just had 2 helpful guys from SGN visit me at home and although they say there is nothing they can do about road being closed over night they are going to confirm with ESCC that gritters will be regularly out on diversion if weather turns.

Gas Network Upgrade Diary
Throughout the eight weeks work by SGN and East Sussex Highways to upgrade the gas network in Coast Road, Pevensey Bay, as part of a £624,000 project, we will be offering a diary account of each day based on communications with residents, SGN and East Sussex Highways. We are receiving upwards of 30 communications a day and the choice about what to include for our diary is based on some key points that we see for the day. The diary pieces will appear both online and in our newspaper Bay Life the Journal, issue 6 soon to be available in local newsagents.—Bay Life, 1 November 2016
