An initial briefing about the first Food & Wine Festival in Pevensey

We understand the event is to be held over the last weekend in August, but await confirmation and further details.

It is planned to take within the grounds of Pevensey Castle.

The event has the potential to offer an annual festival which will add to the ‘re-invigoration’ of Pevensey as a visitor destination, the place historian Michael Wood, in the filming of his landmark BBC2 series ‘The Great British Story- A People’s History’ described with the words ‘this is where it all began’.

Visitors will be offered walks around the Castle and street entertainers will work their magic with children, plus storytelling and other fun events.

Long Man Brewery will be providing the bar and selling their award winning beers. They use the best locally sourced ingredients and the Spring Barley is grown right on the farm next door to their business.

The award- winning Bluebell Vineyard; triple silver winners in 2013 of the Top World Wine Awards will be giving wine tasting talks.

Restaurants and hotels will be showcasing their culinary delights and, local producers from cheese makers to trugs makers and fruit juice to cider makers will also be in attendance.
