English Heritage has put St Nicolas on the “Heritage at Risk” Register, implying that there is concern about the state of the building, which is, of course, the reason for our Restoration Project Appeal, writes Owen Visick, churchwarden at St. Nicolas Church.

“The Heritage at Risk Programme (HAR) was launched in 2008, as a way of understanding the overall state of England’s historic sites. In particular, the programme identifies those sites that are most at risk of being lost as a result of neglect, decay or inappropriate development.

“It is important that our situation is brought to the notice of the public. The project aims to raise £212,000 for repairs and renovations“.
