Annual International festival celebrating books and everything to do with them. Held in Eastbourne, May 30th – June 1st 2014

In 2012 we held a one day event in Saffrons Sports under the title ‘Eastbourne Writes’ to encourage and include the town in reading and writing and book illustration activities.

The event was attended by 50 people including poets, writers, artists and the then Mayor of Eastbourne, Carolyn Heaps.

In addition to workshops on various topics we launched a writing competition from which a book was published in December 2012 ‒ The Day After. The youngest contributor was 8 and the oldest was 88.

This year, 2014, the Eastbourne Book Fest (formerly Eastbourne Writes event) launches the evening of Thursday 29th and will take place over three days, May 30th – June 1st 2014.

We are currently working on creating an excellent programme for all to enjoy.
