The community is in a state of shock hearing the news that ex-church warden of St, Nicolas Church, Owen Visick has died.—Bay Life, 22 June 2017

Thoughts and comments are starting to come in from across community.

Owen Visick was such a pillar of the community and so widely regarded as such a lovely man that the shock has reverberated across the community.

The warmth of the comments is an indication of the profound loss the community is expressing this morning.

Local resident Stephen Tanner commented, “This news is so sad, he was such a nice man. He recently conducted the church service of my partner Angela and became a good friend and support in my hour of need”.

Local resident Jane Hook commented, ‘such a lovely man x sending our love and sympathy to all of his family x’

Lorraine Porter said, “I am just so sorry to hear of the tragic loss of such a pillar of our community. My thoughts and condolences go to his wife Gill, family and friends. R.I.P.”

Melita Cullis said, “such sad news ….. “Owen was a lovely man and his faith in our Lord Jesus shone through his life ….. Our prayers are with his family as they grieve…”

Last night (June 21) Bay Life explained “we are so sad to report this evening the death of ex-church warden at St.Nicolas church, Owen Visick”

St. Nicolas church talking through George Stephens asked they we publish this short message.

“I speak on behalf of the parish (with the Churchwardens’ sanction), and especially for the Visick family. The cause of Owen’s sudden death is not known. It is a shock to all, and his loss is both tragic and great.”
