B@Y LIFE COVERAGE:
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2017
Dear Residents,
This is the third news letter that I have distributed in our Division since I was elected in 2013. I believe it is important to keep those who took the trouble to elect me informed of the work I undertake on your behalf.
Many have said that the only time they see a person who wants their vote, is at an election, I have determined that I would not do that, but keep people informed. I will be standing again in May this year.
I have been one of the hardest working Councillors during my term of office, and report regularly to Westham & Pevensey Parish Councils.
I have been able to help sort out a lot of problems for people because I have access to the heads of departments that East Sussex are responsible for:
Adult Social Care
Schools and Young People
Highways
Environment
Street Lighting
Footpaths
Potholes
I take the trouble to talk to those heads and am therefore able to achieve more than just e-mailing, phoning, or writing letters. I have personally helped people get care packages, disabled parking places, visited the elderly, giving reassurance, all in quick time.
I am here for you, I hear of many people who are having difficulty getting answers to problems because they are going to the wrong person.
As a UKIP Councillor I am not whipped so can act as an independent candidate, working for you and not following some dictate from on high. For instance, I am appalled at the amount of building on the green belt, particularly on the fields in Rattle Road.
There are getting on for 1,000 homes being built, with inadequate drainage, and no extra medical provision. We live in villages not huge towns. Are the homes for local people on the waiting list? NO.
I was the only elected Councillor to attend a very large protest meeting on the 7th September last year at the Westham Village Hall about the amount.
