New Cineworld Eastbourne to open its doors on Friday 12th July 2019 – – Cinema to open in extension to The Beacon, following relocation from Sovereign Harbour Retail Park

Cineworld, one of the UK’s leading cinema chains, has today announced that the exciting new look Cineworld Eastbourne will open on Friday 12th July 2019, relocating from its original site in Sovereign Harbour Retail Park.

The new cinema will feature eight state-of-the-art screens, two more screens than the current site, all with brand new seating and the latest in laser projector technology to show the latest Hollywood releases.

Also new to the cinema will be a Baskin Robbins counter offering a wide selection of ice creams to suit all tastes. Cinema favourites from popcorn to Pick & Mix will also be available for movie fans to purchase.

The cinema will open in time for the highly anticipated live action adaptation of Disney’s The Lion King.

John Glover, Cineworld Eastbourne General Manager, commented: “We are very excited about our new location in the heart of Eastbourne and can’t wait to open the doors to movie fans on Friday 12th July. With an exciting line-up of films this summer, we look forward to continuing to share our love of film with the local community.”

Bill Plumridge, Manager of The Beacon, said: “This is fantastic news for The Beacon and for Eastbourne. It will be a huge boost to the town’s night-time economy to have this state-of-the-art eight screen cinema open for business in just over two months’ time, ready for the school holidays.

Everyone will be looking forward to the release of the Lion King.” Cineworld Eastbourne is currently situated in the popular Sovereign Harbour complex and will officially close on Friday 12th July 2019, the same day as the new site welcomes in cinema-goers.

The relocation to The Beacon Shopping Centre will bring the cinema into the heart of the town, and two additional screening rooms will offer the people of Eastbourne more opportunities to experience the latest and best films. Cinema fans can take advantage of a range of offers at Cineworld Eastbourne including discounted Movies for Juniors screenings for just £2.50 on Saturdays, Sundays and school holidays, as well as the Cineworld family ticket and Student NUS discount.

The cinema will also be available for private venue hire. Cineworld customers can also enjoy watching as many films as they want, as many times as they want with an Unlimited Card for just £17.90 per month (or £20.40 for London West End cinemas). The Unlimited Card also allows members to enjoy 10% off cinema snacks and drinks, local offers at restaurants and shops, and advance preview screenings.
