Christian Aid statement
Solidarity Sleepout
People who are internally displaced, like refugees, have had to flee their homes, often from war or natural disaster. They are unable or unwilling to escape to another country; they do not have the basic human rights that refugees are afforded.

Two-thirds of people forced from their homes are still in their own country. They want to feel safe, but they either can’t or don’t want to leave. They’re denied the official protection given to refugees, so they’re vulnerable. Are you ready to make a stand?

We’re spending a night out of our comfort zone to stand up for those who are internally displaced. Yet they are largely ignored by the international community and denied the official protection afforded to refugees.

Will you join us in camping inside or outside your local church, your workplace, your university or in a public place to raise awareness?
