St Wilfrid’s Church and Hall in Pevensey Bay celebrates a 50th anniversary next week. Celebration events to mark the anniversary will continue through the year

A first event as part of the keynote year, Coffee and Carols with Voices Choir is to be held at the hall. Carols will be sung for people to join in with their coffee and mince pies.

As part of the celebration, the inspirational local group, Voices Choir, is to join the event from 11:00am to sing a variety of Christmas songs.

The award winning Voices Choir, described as ‘the friendliest choir in town’, requires no auditions, no need to read music and no previous experience. Choir director Diana Terry, FRSA, says, “we sing to have fun”.

Talking about her role as a committee member on St Wilfrid’s Church Hall, Shirley Mackinnon told The Pevensey Bay Journal (8 December), “I would be grateful if you could advertise the event, This has traditionally been a popular Christmas event but never before has it been advertised by social or other media”.

In relation to the anniversary, she explained, “we shall be celebrating over the year”.
