The distinguished organist John Collins will be giving a recital at St Nicolas church, Pevensey at 1pm on Friday 22 June.
He will play a selection of toccatas, sonatas and voluntaries by European composers of the 16th to 18th centuries, including Pachelbel and Frescobaldi. There is no admission charge, but a retiring collection will be taken to contribute to the cost of maintaining the newly restored church building. Tea, coffee, wine and soft drinks will be available before the concert.
Churchwarden Simon Sargent commented “We are delighted to welcome back John Collins, whose previous recitals here have been much enjoyed. We are also very grateful to John for performing for the benefit of the church. Now that the building has been so beautifully restored, regular fundraising is essential to maintain it in good condition.”
