D-DAY 70th ANNIVERSARY GALA CONCERT
Congress Theatre
Sunday 8th June 3pm

The toe-tapping sound of the popular Paul Davis Big Band once again returns to the Congress Theatre on Sunday 8th June, 3pm with a special D-Day 70th Anniversary Gala Concert featuring the well-known variety singer Dennis Lotis.

This concert is a bit of a coup for Eastbourne audiences as in addition to an afternoon of wide ranging live music from the 1940’s including tributes to Anne Shelton and Vera Lynn with West End star Jacquie Toye, it also marks the final professional appearance for Dennis Lotis after an extensive and varied career.

Dennis, who is now 89, arrived in the UK from South Africa in the early 1950′s and within a matter of weeks was performing with the great Ted Heath Orchestra at the prestigious London Palladium. This final concert will reunite Dennis with two of the original Ted Heath musicians, Ronnie Hughes and Bill Geldard. Paul Davis is delighted to be working with his great friend Dennis once again.

Traditionalists can expect Ted Heath and Benny Goodman classics and the comfort of Glenn Miller hits but there will be plenty of surprises with wonderful orchestrations and arrangements to keep the ear keen.

This charity concert will feature a wide range of music from the 1940’s. It is sponsored by the Friends of the Devonshire Park Theatre.

For an afternoon of pure musical class experience the D-Day 70th Anniversary Gala Concert at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne on Sunday 8 June at 3pm, tickets are priced at just £14.50 and £12.50. To book call the box office on 01323 412000 or online www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk.
