Lovely day out on the Bluebell Railway.—Pevensey Senior Support Group, 27 June 2017

Trip on Bluebell Railway: Lovely day and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely

Talking to Bay Life today (28 June) Daniel Brookbank, chairman of the Pevensey Senior Support Group (PSSG), said, “Pevensey Senior Support Group had a lovely outing to the Bluebell Railway on the 8 June. 40 members and helpers took to the minibuses and set off for a picnic lunch and a trip to East Grinstead from Sheffield Park.

“Rita Brown and her helpers put together a delicious picnic lunch and our team of drivers worked hard to get everyone onto the buses and out for the day.

“it was a lovely day and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Many of our members only have the opportunity to get out when we take them so it was a pleasure to go on the Bluebell. We were looked after very well by the railway team and our thanks go to them for their care and attention.”

Daniel added, “PSSG supports older people in our community who might be isolated in their homes or just unable to get out. We run the Tuesday Lunch Club at the Ethel Wood Community Centre and we organise outings and events. If you are older or know someone who would benefit from our service please get in touch with us, you can ring me on 01323 765915″.

Bay Life understands that the fabulous event based aspect of the work with senior citizens next month includes the PSSG trip to the Haven Players show Broadway Lights, West End Lights on the 8 July at Stone Cross Memorial Hall.
