Heart of 1066 country, bring me sunshine—
if local food be the music of love, play on

In the glorious sunshine in mid July 2016, Pevensey and the Bay welcomes the 2nd Wealden Food and Wine Festival to be held in the grounds of Pevensey Castle. As the thousands of people flock to the Eastern Gate at Pevensey Castle, the locality embraces the Festival that that has put this historic corner of Sussex back on the map. The hidden jewel in the crown of Sussex is shining bright today (Saturday 16 July). Congratulations to the organisers at Wealden Council, all the stallholders and entertainers and exhibitors and history trailers for putting on what is a quite fabulous weekend that will be enjoyed by visitors and residents from across Sussex.—Bay Life, 16 July 2016
