Traffic accident on the corner of Timberlaine Road and Eastbourne Road this afternoon in Pevensey Bay (26 December).
Ambulance seen flashing along Eastbourne Road at speed just after 3:00pm, currently two Police cars and ambulance in attendance with a stretcher placed on grass verge as paramedics attend at scene (15:20). Taxi seen wedged in the road at diagonal, inside first turn into Village at Eastbourne Road next to incident. Police currently taking statements.
At 15:30 a witness at the scene said “a lady taxi driver was turning in from Eastbourne Road towards Timberlaine Road when it looks like a motorcyclist tried to overtake her, inside the turning, and went into her door”. He added “looks like the motorcyclist has broken his leg or something but has now been taken to hospital.”
At 15:40, a woman taxi driver was seen still talking to Police, but the scene had been cleared.
