Application No. WD/2018/1596/F
ANDERIDA HOUSE
PROPOSED CONVERSION OF DANCE STUDIO TO 6NO. FLATS WITH TWO STOREY REAR EXTENSIONS AND ADDITIONAL FLOOR.
1 WALLSEND ROAD, PEVENSEY, BN24 6AE

*** BREAKING: The Pevensey Bay Journal understands that the proposal to turn Anderida House into six flats was refused by Wealden Council on 8 February.

The Wealden Council website has been marked today (February 11), decision issued.

We understand that the decision issued is to refuse the application and that the website will show the decision in the next few days.

Neighbours to Anderida House have received a letter today by Wealden Council which states;

Application No. WD/2018/1596/F
PROPOSED CONVERSION OF DANCE STUDIO TO 6NO. FLATS WITH TWO STOREY REAR EXTENSIONS AND ADDITIONAL FLOOR.
1 WALLSEND ROAD, PEVENSEY, BN24 6AE
You recently sent me comments on the above proposal and I now write to advise you that, after considering all the representations received, the Council has now decided to REFUSE the above application on 8 February 2019.

If you have access to the Internet, the Decision Notice will be available to view on line at www.planning.wealden.gov.uk

On 8 Novemebr 2018, Pevensey Parish Council voted against development of Anderida House as a three storey flat development on the same grounds as the last application, citing, “Loss of the iconic building, parking issues, not in keeping with the rest of the village and over shadowing”.

The decision follows a concerted campaign within the community to see the building noted as being of historic value to Pevensey Bay.
