Savvy filmmaker Sharon Clark, who brought the Pevensey Scarecrow Festival to YouTube last year with a brilliant 45 minute video blog seen by 3,946 people, has gone one stage further with the 2016 festival. She has brought the scarecrows to life—Bay Life, 24 July 2016

The new production has been picked up by ITV, appearing on Merdian News.

Her company, Creative films , with over 16,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel, celebrates various aspects of local life, here in Pevensey Bay and around East Sussex. Her savvy approach to the locality has wit and fast cut wisdom, with the commentaries and editing skills displaying a real community edge to each of the productions.

In Brighton. Zoella, the video blogger with 7 million followers, has just bought a £1 million five-bedroom mansion. With 16,000 subscribers, Sharon Clark has some way to go to hit the big time, but all the indications are that she is going in the right direction.

There is an honesty to her productions as well as a real ability to catch the zeitgeist, as well as insight into the vernacular life of Pevensey Bay and the environs in the digital age.

Big word, but we see humanity in her work. It is interesting to see a local documentary maker working in Pevensey Bay in the digital age with this ability to surf the street wave. (see Bay Life here getting down with the kids badly but you get the point), Move over Janet Street Porter and tell Sharon Clark the News (in a real Sussex accent).

With her blue hair and fun big white goggles and whizz at pointing her iphone at the action, it seems likely that what she does will begin to appear more on mainstream media in all the right places.

Are we about to see the first YouTube millionaire in Pevensey Bay? Stranger things have happened here over the ages.

If so, could not happen to a nicer super creative person. Fabulous to see her working her magic with the Scarecrow Festival. We will be seeing more of Sharon Clark and Creative Films.

Talking to Bay Life (21 July) she said, “hi this may be of interest to you A LIVE SCARECROW has been spotted around Pevensey Bay.

“Here are some great photos and a video of a fun day I had filming yesterday with my neighbour for the area celebrating the wonderful festival.

“You might want to use a photo or 2 for your website It would make great viewing”.

Seen filming in Pevensey Bay on Wednesday (20 July), she stopped the traffic as people in local cafes came out from behind their lite lunches to witness the Strawman .

He was seen posing in various locations. before moving on to stand with some of the scarecrows holding his pose like a living statue as people took photos.

And a word to Dave the neighbour, the human scarecrow. Maybe time to get on one of those character actor registers for TV commercials. You have got the CV now!

The brilliant addition to the festival, seen by people across the Bay, has been videoed to add to the collection of the Life and Digital Times of Pevensey Bay as part of the Sharon Clark Creative Films take on life here.

The video blog collection is rated on YouTube and now by the mainstream media.
