At 9:00am this morning (Thursday 15 November), an announcement was made that the Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab has resigned.

Dominic Raab has resigned saying he “cannot in good conscience support” the UK’s draft Brexit agreement with the EU.

There are indications of possible moves among Conservative backbenchers to force a no-confidence vote in prime minister Theresa May..

The question of whether or not Prime Minister Theresa May will now resign hangs in the balance.

Local MP of Bexhill and Battle Huw Merriman, speaking before the news that Dominic Raab had resigned said on his tweeter feed “constituents always work logically so will appreciate need for me to read, research and form a view on #brexitdeal so I can discuss properly at my next public meeting. Will not be giving an opinion before I have read the contents”.

The prime minister is due to make a Commons statement on the Brexit agreement at 1030.
