Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was shot in the head in Hastings.

The victim was walking in Priory Road, close to the speed camera, at about 10pm on Monday (7 March), when he was approached from behind by a man who pointed a firearm – believed to be a BB gun – at his head.

He then fired the weapon, causing a pellet to imbed in the boy’s forehead.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a minor skull fracture. He was discharged on Tuesday (8 March) morning.

The suspect is described as a man taller than 5′ 6″, of medium build, wearing a black hooded top.
