On 27 October 2014, Sussex Police amended their media release with regard to an indecent assault first stated as having taken place in Pevensey Bay.

Detectives are currently investigating an indecent assault on an 11-year-old boy in Eastbourne.

It happened at about 6.30pm on Wednesday (22 October) on the beach near Macquarie Quay, between the end of the road and the outer harbour.

The boy was assaulted by a man described as white, about 30, with blond hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

Detective Sergeant Bonnie Cowley, of Eastbourne CID, said: “Whilst serious, this is an isolated incident and enquiries are continuing.

“Neighbourhood policing teams are carrying out high-visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance to visitors and residents.”

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area or who may have other information that could help officers is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 1605 of 23/10.
