The craziest of micro weather systems bombards the Bay over the last 24 hours.
At something like 7:00pm last night (Thursday 6 November), wind speeds increased to over 20mph as rain tipped down with scenes of chair shifting on patios and refuse bins in the road starting to dance.
Over night the situation didn’t improve as wind and hammering rain kept people awake all night. The weak sun started to come through in the morning and wind speeds had dropped by mid morning.
At something like 2:00pm today (Friday 7), hailstones battered down like rods bouncing off windows and conservatory roofs with an almighty clatter for something like 20 minutes..
The sky seems to have cleared now (3:00pm), wind speeds have dropped and the sound of rain has subsided as all the water finds drains and gutters to disappear.
Highest gust recorded 36.8mph.
There are currently no flood warnings in operation by the Environment Agency for the coastal area of Peveney seafront.
For the rest of the day and tonight, we are forecast, more strong and gusty winds at times, generally dry with some clear spells, but scattered heavy showers are still likely, mainly over southern coastal counties. Remaining quite breezy.
