Police are appealing for witnesses to a man who was robbed in his car in Eastbourne on Sunday (December 7).

The victim, a 23-year-old man from Pevensey Bay, was sat in his car, a blue Fiat Punto, in a space near to the taxi ranks at the Langney Shopping Centre at around 1pm when a man got into his car and demanded money. He then hit him on the head and stole his mobile phone and some money.

Detective Constable Julie Cocklin said: “The victim, thankfully, wasn’t seriously injured. The victim describes the suspect as a white man, around 28 or 29-years-old, medium build, about 5′ 11″ with blonde and brown scruffy hair and a navy blue hooded top and blue jeans.

“Anyone with information or saw what happened is asked to contact police on or call 101 quoting serial 749 of 07/12.”
