2013 REMEMBRANCE DAY—The Royal British Legion annual Poppy Appeal coffee morning will be on Saturday 9th November from 10.00am to 12noon in Westham Village Hall

There will be stalls, raffles, tombola and refreshments; an opportunity to have a good time, pick up a bargain and do your bit for those who have done so much for you.

Legion members will also carry out a house-to-house collection in Pevensey, Westham and Stone Cross in the lead up to Remembrance Day.

On Sunday 10th November the Royal British Legion members, with standards and bugler, will attend a Remembrance Sunday service in St Nicolas Church Pevensey, the service beginning at 10.50am, and on Monday 11th they will parade for a service of Remembrance in the Memorial Garden at St Wilfrid’s Church Pevensey Bay, also beginning at 10.50am.

At both these services a two minutes silence will be observed and wreaths laid, honouring the memory of all who died in two world wars and all subsequent conflicts. Hymns will be sung and prayers offered, and each service will end with the singing of the National Anthem.

Also on the Sunday, a service of Holy Communion, conducted by the Revd Nicholas Fincham, will take place at St Wilfrid’s church.
