The two thousand year timeline that tells the story of Pevensey and its rich history: www.pevenseytimeline.co.uk

Caer-Anderida is Pevensey (Anderitum). It is mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles as a British stronghold overrun by the invading South Saxons under King Aelle in 491.

Nennius (800 CE) mentions the Celtic fort of Caer-Anderida which is Pevensey ( Latin Anderitum) in Sussex.

King Aelle is mentioned by Bede (673? -735 CE) as an important warrior king and later sources credit him with the founding of a South Saxon Kingdom (Sussex) in the late 5th century.
